Reached 20 Branches in Turkey, Entered Germany

1401 Coffee, which entered the coffee sector by opening its first store in Istanbul in 2022, has quickly gained momentum and now has over 20 branches across Turkey. Aiming to reach 25 branches by the end of 2025, the brand plans to become a global player with 200 locations within the next five years. Founder Bülent Özgür Kılıç, who blends corporate discipline with entrepreneurial courage, defines 1401 not just as a coffee chain, but as “a lifestyle brand that touches people and builds culture.” The journey, stretching from Moda to Çanakkale, from Ataşehir to İzmir, continues with the goal of offering unique experiences at each branch.

A Meeting Point in Çubuklu

Shaping its domestic and international growth strategy by preserving its brand identity and adding cultural value to every market it enters, 1401 Food & Drink crowned this vision with its first launch event held on Friday evening, September 19.

The event held at 1401 Food & Drink Çubuklu, the brand’s flagship location, reflected 1401’s holistic approach, representing not only coffee but also gastronomy and lifestyle culture.

The evening was attended by distinguished figures from the worlds of business, art, and media. Well-known faces from the gastronomy scene, investors, and members of the press gathered at this special event at 1401 Food & Drink Çubuklu.

Speaking at the launch, Bülent Özgür Kılıç, founder of 1401 Food & Drink and 1401 Coffee, emphasized that coffee is not just a beverage but a universal value that brings cultures together, stating that 1401 aims to carry this culture from Turkey to the world. Kılıç said, “The story of 1401 is a journey that began with courage and grew with culture. The name and symbol of our brand are a tribute to its roots. Our journey, which began at Tuzla Marina, has now reached over 20 branches. We will see 25 by the end of the year, and we aim to be in 200 locations within five years. We operate under the 1401 umbrella with two complementary concepts. At 1401 Coffee Shop, we offer a dynamic coffee culture, while 1401 Food & Drink provides a refined gastronomic experience. As you all know, the coffee market is a rapidly growing and exciting field. What matters most to us is to continue this journey with steps that leave solid and lasting impressions. Çubuklu, where we are gathered this evening, is a symbol of our determination to contribute to the city’s culture. Of course, this space could have been used for different purposes to generate higher profits. But we chose to prioritize culture, sharing, and quality encounters over profit. We reflect this perspective in the space itself, presenting you with a holistic experience that combines architectural aesthetics, a seamless service system, a refined yet accessible menu, and a communication style that connects with people. This evening is a great motivation for us.” Concluding his remarks, he announced that 1401 Coffee will open its first international branch in Düsseldorf in November. Describing this step as a valuable development in bringing their culture to the world, Kılıç ended his speech by saying, “I thank everyone who makes this brand valuable. First Stop on the Global Journey: Düsseldorf

Another development that marked the evening was the brand’s international expansion. 1401 Coffee is embarking on its global journey by opening its first international branch in Düsseldorf in November. Preparations are underway for new branches in Berlin and Cologne.

The brand offers more than just coffee. With the 1401 Coffee And Drink concept, it reinterprets modern gastronomy with refined menus that change seasonally, special cocktails, and craft beers. Prepared with the contribution of Michelin-starred consultant chefs, the menu quickly became the brand’s new face, starting in Moda.

Today, 1401 is not just a place to drink coffee; it is an experience center that contributes to the city’s culture with workshops, art events, and social gatherings. With more than 30 investors waiting in line, the brand’s future vision is to expand from Turkey to the world with a sustainable and controlled growth strategy.
